Telehealth Available at Dakota Allergy & Asthma

You are sick with your allergies, asthma, and anaphylactic emergencies.  You need help but you don’t know how you can get seen and get better in this time of coronavirus precautions.

Telehealth Available

Our team at Dakota Allergy & Asthma have found telehealth visits to be extremely helpful.

You can see and hear the Allergist over your computer or telephone, and we can see and hear you.

A history and a limited physical examination can be done, and many problems resolved with a good treatment plan getting put into place.

How Telehealth Works

Dakota Allergy & Asthma uses the HIPPA compliant ZOOM Telehealth Platform for our visits.

You set up an appointment just like you normally do, and we email you an invitation to your appointment.

You want to be sure to load the Zoom software/app well before your appointment, so you have no issues signing in when it’s time for your appointment to begin.

At the appointment time we each use the link to sign in for your appointment.

What To Have Ready Before Your Appointment

Just like any other appointment you need to have the following compiled ahead of time:

  • Your questions
  • Symptoms
  • History
  • Current medication list
  • Where you will want any medication prescriptions sent

Additionally, have a note pad and pencil ready to write down instructions and answers to your questions.

These preparations will allow you to get the most out of your appointment!

Will Insurance Cover A Telehealth Visit

Most insurance companies are allowing payment for your telehealth visits much like that of a regular visit during this pandemic. They want you well and to stay well.

If you have any concerns, contact your insurance company with any questions.

When An Office Visit Is Necessary

For other issues, we may ask you to come into the office for testing and completion of the visit.  This minimizes your time out and about.

Our office visit procedures are designed to keep you away from infectious exposures yet allow you to get the help you need to get and to stay well.

We all know that the time honored face-to-face medical visit is the gold standard in patient care.

For now, though, we want to stay safe from coronavirus exposure and telehealth is one of our tools to do just that!  And it lets you keep all those nasty allergy problems under control, too!
